Deanna began singing at the age of two, two years before she started to speak. It was evident from a very early age that singing was her natural talent and passion. She began her formal vocal training at the age of twelve and she has been studying with a professional voice teacher ever since.
Deanna attended Chapman University's Conservatory of Music in Orange, California. Chapman's vocal music program is one of the nations premiere music programs and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. She earned a four year scholarship on her vocal merits and studied formal music and vocal performance during her tenure under the direction of William Hall. She graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree. She continued her education at University of LaVerne, earning a teaching credential and a Masters Degree in Education.
Deanna's broad scope of training and sound vocal technique allows her to specialize in singing for every genre of music ranging from classical, pop,Broadway and jazz. Her extensive training in voice and technique also benefits the actor and professional speaker.
In addition to being a working professional vocalist in demand, she is a Certified Vocal Instructor with the world known and highly respected Institute for Vocal Advancement. (www.VocalAdvancement.com) She has maintained her educational growth and development with this organization since 2007, now bringing almost 10 years of knowledge and experience to every individualized lesson. With her formal music training, music and educational degrees, extensive performance history, teaching experience, and professional vocal skills, she has the perfect blend of what is needed to be a successful private voice coach. Deanna was also a professor of voice technique and vocal repertoire at Hancock Junior College in Santa Maria, CA.
Deanna still performs actively all over California, singing classical oratorio works with Symphony Orchestra, Wind Orchestras, Big Bands, Jazz Combos ,Pops concerts, solo concerts, and recitals, and was the featured vocalist of gypsy tango band, Cafe Musique. She is was the 2016-17 Artist in Residence for acclaimed Opera San Luis Obispo. She continues to perform as the vocal soloist with the orchestra in a series of Pops Concerts.
